Week 6 Recap

Pack Attack (106.68) vs 16hrs Ahead of You!! (82.70)

Pack Attack won the Game of the Week with a 5.31 point quarterback. L Jackson could not go, there was no backup on the roster, so Pack Attack went to the waiver wire and came back with J Winston, who did about what you would expect from a Saturday pickup. It did not matter. M Golden (22.80) delivered in the Sunday night game against Dallas, E Egbuka (15.40) had his best week of the season, E Williams (13.35) chipped in from the defensive spot, and P Nacua (10.00) and C Little (10.00) did enough. Pack Attack (3-3) is back to .500 and up to 47.9% to make the playoffs — the swing on this one was worth more than thirty points of playoff odds, and Pack Attack came out on the right side of it.

16hrs (3-3) missed J Gibbs badly. 82.70 points and a 1-12 record against the field, the second worst week in the league. C Williams (17.30) looked fine in his return and D Pierce (13.08) stepped in for Gibbs, but nobody else showed up. And then there is the bench: 16hrs started R Odunze (4.95) over D Smith (16.75), an 11.80 point miss, on a week where everybody — me included — thought Smith would not play. He played. That is now five straight wins for Pack Attack in this series, which moves to 20-6. The KFFL AI had Pack Attack at 67.4% and got it right.

Big Papa (123.00) vs pack slayer (117.91)

Talk about a waiver pickup paying off! Big Papa added R White off waivers on Saturday — a player who was sitting on 16hrs' bench as recently as week 5 — and on Monday night he put up 13.30. Big Papa (3-3) won by 5.09. You do the math. That is about as good as a Saturday transaction gets especially in this league!

And it was not just White. C.J. Stroud finally got the start with J Goff on bye and went for 27.57, and Big Papa's 123.00 was their best score of the season. C Loveland (15.25) finally woke up, the Broncos D (12.00) and K Shakir (11.70) chipped in, and Big Papa went 10-3 against the field. Three straight losses snapped and a playoff chance back above 20%.

pack slayer (2-4) is having the season that pack slayer always seems to have. 117.91 points, a 9-4 record against the field, and a loss. They are now 48-30 against the field on the season — tied for third best in the league — and they are 2-4. K Wa)lker III (28.08) and D Swift (20.23) were excellent and M Stafford (16.44) was fine, but J Johnson put up a zero at tight end in a game they lost by five. I picked pack slayer and said Stafford was in a smash spot. I apparently was wrong!

DaUnderdog (127.60) vs BIGBOY! (86.13)

These two have a long history of trash talk, and DaUnderdog (5-1) did all of theirs on the field this week. 41.47 points. This was the first meeting since BIGBOY! knocked DaUnderdog out of the playoffs last year on the way to a second straight title, and DaUnderdog looked every bit the best team in this league. Five straight wins, first place, and a 95.4% chance at the playoffs.

The bye week was supposed to hurt them. A Jones Sr., T Higgins and the Vikings D were all off, and DaUnderdog patched the holes and scored 127 anyway. T Lawrence got the start and went for 33.85, C McCaffrey (25.92) was excellent, and J Noel — one of the bye week fill-ins — put up 20.35. S Diggs (14.20) did his part too. I said in the preview that the one DaUnderdog player I trusted was B Bowers and turns out again I was wrong as Bowers scored a measly 7.50 points. They won by 41. So that is how much I know.

BIGBOY! (2-4) went 2-11 against the field. G Bernard (21.35) was the one bright spot. J Brissett (2.49) and M Lloyd (0.67) combined for barely three points, and without J Jefferson there was no way back into it. The three-peat chase sits at 14.5%, and the 2018 comparison is starting to feel like a long time ago. Stare at that trophy, take a picture with it so you never forget as the end feels near!

Bossman (137.11) vs Sportsfreak (101.79)

Bossman (4-2) put the 1.47 point loss from last week behind them in a hurry. T Shough filled in for J Burrow and went for 29.01. T Hunter, projected for 3.77, scored 24.25. J Smith-Njigba (23.70) was J Smith-Njigba, and T Bass (18.70) had another big day from the kicker spot. Bossman is now 63-15 against the field on the season, the best mark in the league by six full games, and finally has a record that looks something like it.

Sportsfreak (1-5) got a big game from J Daniels (23.67) and K Pitts Sr. (20.00), but T McLaurin (2.35 and injured) and C Sutton (2.95) gave them almost nothing, and that was the end of it. They are 1-5 with a 2.6% chance at the playoffs, and they are 24-54 against the field. It is going to take a historic run from here and T McLaurin is now out for the season. Things looking a little bleak for Sportsfreak!

HHH (157.67) vs teamAlaska (102.84)

Brother battle, and HHH (5-1) was clearly tired of hearing about how lucky they have been. So they went out and scored 157.67, the highest score in the league this week, and went 13-0 against the field. Point taken. M Nabers (30.85) led the way, B Tuten (21.00) and C Hubbard (20.05) both topped twenty, and D Douglas (15.30), the player they left on the bench in week 5, was in the lineup this time. And Q Lake (13.95) had a big day for HHH. HHH's season all-play record is now 42-36, above .500 for the first time all year, and they are at 83.8% to make the playoffs.

teamAlaska (3-3) got D Maye (24.30) and C McLaughlin (18.60), but K Monangai scored zero for the second straight week, and the bye week patch job was never going to keep up with 157. teamAlaska still leads this all-time series 15-9, but this brother has some catching up to do in the standings.

Starrfavrerodg (98.39) vs PackerFANatic7 (59.47)

Starrfavrerodg (3-3) won this one with a quarterback who went undrafted in August. J Hurts was out, so K Cousins (21.26) stepped in and led the team. J Cook III (18.23) and T Smack (11.80) helped, and that was more than enough. Starrfavrerodg went 3-10 against the field and won by 38. Some weeks, it is all about the matchup.

Because PackerFANatic7 (1-5) had a truly terrible week. 59.47 points, the second lowest score in the league all season, a 0-13 record against the field, and they played the entire week with ten starters because the defensive slot never got filled. The Dallas stack I wrote about went 21.13 combined from D Prescott (7.63), C Lamb (12.50) and B Aubrey (1.00) on Sunday night. They also left R Flournoy (15.00) on the bench while L McConkey started and scored 1.85.

And here is the part that should worry everybody about this team. This is the fourth time in ten seasons PackerFANatic7 has started 1-5. 2019, 2022, 2023 and now 2026. They have made the playoffs exactly once, in their very first season in 2017. Their 59.47 is the third lowest score in franchise history. And of the 39 teams in this league's history who have started 1-5 or worse, exactly one — U Don't Know in 2021 — made the playoffs. They are at a 2.0% chance. This team is not good but I don't expect them to go down without a fight and the best thing I can say about this team at the moment!

U Don't Know (111.89) vs Rapids Plungers (99.57)

U Don't Know (4-2) snapped their two game slide and did it by finally starting the right tight end. I Likely (18.95), who sat on the bench in week 5 and scored 27.70 while U Don't Know lost by 4.60, was in the lineup this time and led the team. J Allen (17.17), DK Metcalf (15.65) and G Kittle (14.45) all chipped in. C Skattebo put up a zero and they still won comfortably.

Rapids Plungers (3-3) had their worst week of the season. I picked them because I liked B Robinson, R Stevenson, P Washington and B Purdy to carry them. B Robinson (5.67), R Stevenson (2.40), P Washington (7.20) and B Purdy (13.15) combined for 28 points. D Waller scored zero. T Tucker (21.85) and the Chiefs D (15.00) kept it respectable, but this was the first week all season Rapids Plungers did not break 100. They are 3-3 and at 51.1%, sitting right on the playoff line.

Odds and Ends

The all-play table. Bossman is 63-15 against the field, the best in the league by a distance. DaUnderdog is 57-21. HHH, after one 13-0 week, is finally above .500 at 42-36 — still a long way from what a 5-1 team usually looks like. At the bottom, PackerFANatic7 is 19-59 and Sportsfreak is 24-54.

Benches. PackerFANatic7 left 47.72 on the bench, including the R Flournoy miss, in a week where they had an empty slot in the lineup. 16hrs left D Smith (16.75) sitting. Big Papa left 2.80 on the bench and won, which is what a good Saturday of lineup work looks like.

Playoff odds after six weeks. Every team's chances, from 20,000 simulations of the 56 games still left. Six make it, and the dashed line is the cut. Six weeks in, the top four look like they are separating — DaUnderdog, HHH, Bossman and U Don't Know are all above 73%. The last two spots are a free-for-all between Rapids Plungers at 51.1%, Pack Attack at 47.9% and 16hrs at 46.9%.

And the ledger. Rough week. The KFFL AI went 6-1. I went 3-3. We disagreed on two games, BIGBOY! against DaUnderdog and Rapids Plungers against U Don't Know, and it won both. Six weeks in, it is the KFFL AI 26-16 and me 21-15. I guess maybe AI is pretty smart after all!
