Week 7 Recap
PackerFANatic7 (143.25) vs Pack Attack (135.40)
What a comeback! PackerFANatic7 went into Monday night down 51.22 with three players left. D Prescott (24.77), C Lamb (20.70) and B Aubrey (13.60) put up 59.07 between them against the Eagles, and PackerFANatic7 (2-5) won by 7.85. Last week the same Dallas stack scored 21.13 combined. This week it saved PackerFANatic7's season, at least for one more week. L Burden III (21.97) and KC Concepcion Jr. (20.98) did their part on Thursday and Sunday too, and the 143.25 was the second highest score in the league and by far PackerFANatic7's best of the season. The playoff odds only went from 2.0% to 4.4%, but they are alive, and this uncle-nephew series is now dead even at 5-5.
Pack Attack (3-4) did just about everything right except win. Three of their first four draft picks, L Jackson, J Love and E Egbuka, were out, and Pack Attack left 0.00 points on the bench because there was nobody healthy left to put there. B Mayfield (7.35) was the waiver fill-in at quarterback this time. And then T Pollard went for 35.90, the highest individual score in the league this week. J Williams (21.55), B Allen (19.43) and P Nacua (18.07) all chipped in. 135.40 points, an 11-2 record against the field, and a loss. It is the second highest losing score in the league this season. The KFFL AI picked Pack Attack at 65.7% and got this one wrong. Pack Attack falls to 37.4% to make the playoffs.
Big Papa (111.89) vs DaUnderdog (103.38)
Another Monday night comeback! Big Papa (4-3) went into Monday down 30.40, and J Williams (26.33) and S Barkley (12.58) took care of the rest from both sides of the Dallas-Philadelphia game. DaUnderdog had one player left in that game, J Ferguson, and he scored zero. C Loveland (16.45), D Vele (13.70) and T.J. Hockenson (11.75) all helped, and C.J. Stroud (17.33) was fine, although J Goff scored 20.99 on the bench, so that running joke is not going anywhere. I said this was the week Big Papa would upset the #1 team, and they did! Big Papa goes from 21.1% to 32.3%.
DaUnderdog (5-2) had their five game win streak snapped. B Nix (21.37) and T Higgins (24.40) were good, and T Johnson (10.58), the waiver receiver they picked up for D Adams, did fine. But A Jones Sr. (2.73), J Noel (1.85) and D Zvada (3.00) did not give them much, and a 3-10 record against the field is not going to win many weeks. They are still at 90.1% and neck and neck with HHH for the #1 seed.
Rapids Plungers (118.61) vs BIGBOY! (116.01)
BIGBOY! (2-5) needed 10.60 from D Goedert on Monday night and got 8.00. That is a 2.60 point loss for the two-time defending champion, and the three-peat chase is now down to a 7.8% chance at the playoffs. G Smith (23.74) was a solid fill-in at quarterback, J Jacobs (16.15) looked good in his first game back from the suspension, and E Wilson (19.42) and D London (16.30) both showed up. But I said in the preview that BIGBOY! was loaded at receiver, and J Jefferson (6.20), G Wilson (3.30) and G Bernard (4.35) combined for under 14 points. That is where this one did not go according to plan.
A big win for Rapids Plungers (4-3), who did it with P Washington and Rashee Rice out this week. T Tucker (21.15), C Douglas (17.50), off the bench and into the lineup, and R Stevenson (17.12) carried them, and RJ Harvey (11.10) made it into the flex this time. B Purdy (8.09) had a rough day and it did not matter. Rapids Plungers takes a 9-8 lead in the series and moves up to 58.5%, holding onto the last playoff spot.
16hrs Ahead of You!! (160.24) vs Bossman (120.54)
Finally! 16hrs scored 160.24, the highest score in the league this week, went 13-0 against the field and beat Bossman for only the fourth time in twenty-one years. The other three came in 2005, 2009 and 2024, and 160.24 is the most 16hrs has ever scored against Bossman. B Irving (25.27), C Williams (24.36), O Cooper Jr. (21.75) and the Buccaneers D (27.00) led the way, and J Gibbs (17.08) did enough against the Packers. I picked Bossman and called myself a chicken for doing it. Lesson learned! 16hrs (4-3) jumps from 46.9% to 69.4%.
Bossman (4-3) is now the definition of the team that scores and can't win. J Smith-Njigba (33.37) and J Burrow (30.64) combined for 64 points, and they still lost by almost 40, with D Henry (4.20), K Raymond (0.00) and the Jets D (1.00) giving them almost nothing. Bossman has scored at least 120 in every single game this season. They are 73-18 against the field, the best in the league by thirteen games, and they are 4-3. They are down to 74.2%.
HHH (114.80) vs pack slayer (89.65)
Six straight wins! HHH (6-1) is now 6-1 through seven weeks for the first time in the history of this league. This is the same team that started 5-0 last year and missed the playoffs, so nobody in HHH's house is celebrating yet, but this one was never close. T McBride (26.55) led the way, M Nabers (17.55) and J Love (15.48), were solid, and J Chase (14.10) chipped in. I said Nabers, Chase, Love and McBride would put up 80. They got 73.68, close enough, and HHH sits at 90.0% to make the playoffs.
pack slayer (2-5) had their worst week of the season. 89.65 points and a 2-11 record against the field. N Collins (2.30), the player I said was in for a big game against the Giants, did not do anything, C Kirk scored zero in the lineup and T Higbee (2.70) was not the answer at tight end either. M Stafford (19.70) and D Swift (15.80) were fine, and R Dowdle (10.98) sat on the bench. pack slayer is down to 7.3% chance of getting to the playoffs.
teamAlaska (110.28) vs Sportsfreak (78.14)
How about this one? teamAlaska (4-3) had K Monangai (0.00), who was ruled out and stayed in the lineup anyway, Julian Love (0.60), the Eagles D (-4.00) and S LaPorta (1.90). Four of their eleven starters failed to score more than two points, and they still won by 32. D Maye (29.15) did exactly what I said he would on Thursday night, Z Flowers (25.85) was excellent, and M Lemon (16.35) and J Taylor (15.08) did the rest. As for whether teamAlaska reads the previews, the answer appears to be about half of it. Addison and LaPorta made it into the lineup, while K Monangai stayed put with K Black scoring 9.00 on the bench. teamAlaska is now 4-3 and up to 27.5%.
Sportsfreak (1-6) scored 78.14, went 1-12 against the field, and got 3.86 from B Young at quarterback. B Corum (13.60), K Pitts Sr. (12.10) and A Kamara (10.18) were the only bright spots. At 0.5% to make the playoffs, it is going to take a miracle from here.
U Don't Know (104.53) vs Starrfavrerodg (75.84)
The Game of the Week was not much of a game! Starrfavrerodg (3-4) scored 75.84, the lowest score in the league and their lowest of the season, and only three of their starters reached double digits: K Williams (13.70), T Kraft (12.40) and A Rodgers (10.64). Rodgers got the start over K Cousins, and Cousins scored 18.30 on the bench. I picked Starrfavrerodg to find a way, and they did not. Their five game win streak in this series is over, and they fall from 39.6% to 20.9% chance of making the playoffs.
U Don't Know (5-2) won with P Mahomes scoring 2.23 at quarterback, which is about the luckiest way you can win a game in this league. A St. Brown (26.58) carried them, and A Jeanty (18.05) and O Gordon II (18.87), who made it off the bench this week, were both excellent. And then the tight end story took one more twist: I Likely finally got into the lineup, scored 2.60, and C Skattebo scored 20.12 on the bench. A 4-9 record against the field and a win, and U Don't Know is sitting at a 79.5% chance of making the playoffs.
Odds and Ends
The all-play table. Bossman is 73-18 against the field and DaUnderdog is 60-31, and those are the two best teams in the league by a mile. HHH is 49-42 and 6-1. U Don't Know is 52-39 and 5-2. Big Papa is 38-53 and 4-3. Some of these records are going to even out over the second half.
Benches. 16hrs left 33.92 on the bench, including R Odunze (7.45) behind D Cooper (1.85), and still scored 160. Starrfavrerodg's K Cousins (18.30) miss was the costliest call in a loss. Pack Attack left 0.00 on the bench, which is not lineup skill, it is the injury report.
Playoff odds at the halfway point. Every team's chances from 20,000 simulations of the 49 games left. Six make it, and the dashed line is the cut. DaUnderdog and HHH are both at 90% and pulling away. Behind them, eight teams are all sitting between 20% and 80%, with Rapids Plungers (58.5%) holding the last spot and Pack Attack (37.4%) the first team on the outside.

And the ledger. Well, well, well. The KFFL AI went 1-6 this week. Its only correct pick was teamAlaska. I went 3-3. The KFFL AI is now 27-22, and I am 24-18, which puts me back ahead on winning percentage, .571 to .551. Maybe AI isn't so smart after all!
Coming tomorrow. Seven weeks down, seven to go, and that means Buck Mallory's Midseason Report. Awards, embarrassments, and his pick to win it all. Coming tomorrow!
