KFFL AI Picks for Week 8:
Bossman (4-3) over Pack Attack (3-4)
16hrs Ahead of You!! (4-3) over teamAlaska (4-3)
Rapids Plungers (4-3) over Big Papa (4-3)
BIGBOY! (2-5) over Starrfavrerodg (3-4)
HHH (6-1) over DaUnderdog (5-2)
pack slayer (2-5) over Sportsfreak (1-6)
PackerFANatic7 (2-5) over U Don't Know (5-2)
The second half starts tonight, and it starts with a bang. The Packers host the Panthers on Thursday night, and seven of our fourteen teams have a starter in that game: M Golden, the Packers D and E Williams for Pack Attack, J Coker for Big Papa, J Jacobs for BIGBOY!, J Love and C Hubbard for HHH, C Watson, T Kraft and T Smack for Starrfavrerodg, T McMillan for Sportsfreak and D Waller for U Don't Know. Half the league will be checking scores before most of us have even set a lineup! And the bye weeks are back with a vengeance. C McCaffrey, M Nabers, G Kittle, N Collins, C.J. Stroud, B Purdy and a whole lot more are all sitting this one out, so expect the waiver wire to be busy this weekend.
The KFFL AI had a week to forget, going 1-6, and its record is down to 27-22. I am 24-18 and back ahead on winning percentage. Let's see if it bounces back.
Pack Attack (3-4) vs Bossman (4-3)
This series could not be more even. Twenty-two regular season meetings, 11-11, and Pack Attack outscores Bossman by two points a game. But the playoff history has a pattern worth knowing: these two have met three times in the postseason, in 2012, 2015 and 2023, and every single time the winner went on to win the whole thing. Pack Attack in 2012, Bossman in 2015 and again in 2023. Pack Attack won last year's regular season meeting 144.60 to 86.76.
Pack Attack (3-4) is getting healthy at just the right time. L Jackson (16.57), J Love (7.79) and E Egbuka (9.25), all of whom missed last week, are looking to be back in the lineup, but all three are still questionable, but the plan is for all three to play. P Nacua (22.51) leads the way and M Golden (11.42) plays tonight along with the Packers D. And this time there is a backup quarterback on the bench in B Mayfield (13.41), just in case. T Pollard went for 35.90 last week and is projected for 9.88, so Pack Attack will take whatever he can repeat. Pack Attack is at 37.4% to make the playoffs, and this is one of the three biggest playoff swings of the week, about 31 points.
Bossman (4-3) has scored at least 120 in every game this season and has three losses to show for it. J Smith-Njigba (24.01) is projected highest of anybody in this game and plays Monday night against the Bears, and J Burrow (19.07) has been excellent. T Shough is on bye, but with Burrow back that doesn't matter. Bossman is 73-18 against the field, the best in the league, and sits at 74.2%.
Prediction:
I don't pick my own games, so this one goes to the KFFL AI, and it likes Bossman at 53.1%. That is about as close to a coin flip as it gets. Yahoo has Bossman by two and a half points, 118.79 to 116.22. The case for Bossman is simple: they put up 120 every single week, and J Smith-Njigba has been the best player in the league this season. The case for Pack Attack is that the lineup is finally whole again, and P Nacua, L Jackson and M Golden are capable of keeping pace with anybody. But three of Pack Attack's starters are questionable, and if any of them sit, it tips further Bossman's way. The KFFL AI's pick is Bossman.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 22
- Record: Dead even at 11-11
- PPG Avg: Advantage Pack Attack 124.92 to 122.92
- Current Streak: Pack Attack W1
- Last Meeting: 2025 — Pack Attack 144.6, Bossman 86.76
- Playoff Meetings: 3 (Bossman leads 2-1)
16hrs Ahead of You!! (4-3) vs teamAlaska (4-3) — GAME OF THE WEEK
The biggest playoff swing on the board. 16hrs is at 82.1% to make the playoffs with a win and 48.7% with a loss. teamAlaska goes from 48.5% with a win down to 16.5% with a loss. That is more than 30 points either way for both teams, and the loser of this one is staring at a 4-4 record and a long second half.
16hrs is coming off the best week anybody had in week 7, beating Bossman for only the fourth time ever. They have scored 130 a game this season, the third best mark in the league. But they have two holes to fill this week: D Schultz and W Anderson Jr. are both on bye. If D Kincaid (questionable, 8.40) slides in at tight end and they pick up a defensive player, 16hrs projects at 110. J Gibbs (18.80) is questionable but projected highest in the game, and once again D Cooper (3.72) is sitting in the flex while D Smith (9.33) and R Odunze (7.11) are on the bench. That one cost them 5.60 last week. They won anyway.
teamAlaska has scored 107 a game, 23 fewer than 16hrs, and has the same 4-3 record. They are winning ugly — they had four starters score two points or less last week and still won by 26. D Maye (17.86) and Z Flowers (13.79) lead the way, and A.J. Brown (11.03) is questionable. K Monangai is back in the lineup and questionable again. teamAlaska leads this series 13-8, outscores 16hrs by almost 13 a game, and won last year's meeting 142.88 to 95.61. The KFFL AI likes 16hrs at 57.1%.
Prediction: This is a big game for both teams and I expect a really close game. Gibbs has a tough matchup against a stout MN defense and he has really been their difference maker. I think Wilson is in for a big game and I do like Flowers and Maye to both have big games for teamAlaska. I am going to go with teamAlaska to get the win.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 21
- Record: Advantage teamAlaska at 13-8
- PPG Avg: Advantage teamAlaska 118.16 to 105.43
- Current Streak: 16hrs L1
- Last Meeting: 2025 — 16hrs 95.61, teamAlaska 142.88
Big Papa (4-3) vs Rapids Plungers (4-3)
Two 4-3 teams projected half a point apart, and the second biggest playoff swing of the week. These two have some real postseason history. In the 2019 playoffs, Rapids Plungers won 112.12 to 112.04, eight hundredths of a point, on the way to their only title. They beat Big Papa in the playoffs again in 2020, and Big Papa finally got one back in 2022, 178.67 to 114.89, on the way to their title. Rapids Plungers leads the regular season series 10-9.
Big Papa has won two straight, both on Monday night, and is up to 32.3%. And the quarterback story takes another turn: C.J. Stroud is on bye, so J Goff (15.15) starts. J Williams (14.18) has been a workhorse and B Hall (questionable, 10.42) is in the lineup, while S Barkley (questionable, 9.44) and R White (9.80) sit on the bench. J Coker (11.53) plays tonight and T.J. Hockenson (9.18) is in the flex again.
Rapids Plungers is holding the sixth and final playoff spot at 58.5%, and they have bye problems of their own. B Purdy and C Olave are both off, so J Brissett (16.82), who started for BIGBOY! earlier this season, is the starting quarterback. B Robinson (15.82) and P Washington (11.96) carry the projection, and R Rice and Z Charbonnet are both questionable. The KFFL AI has Rapids Plungers at 52.1%.
Prediction: This should be another good one and a really tough one to pick. Injuries might be the difference here. I like the matchups for Rapids Plungers a little more than Big Papa. I am going with Rapids Plungers to win by 5!
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 19
- Record: Advantage Rapids Plungers at 10-9
- PPG Avg: Advantage Rapids Plungers 122.94 to 115.11
- Current Streak: Big Papa L1
- Last Meeting: 2025 — Big Papa 123.09, Rapids Plungers 151.66
- Playoff Meetings: 3 (Rapids Plungers leads 2-1)
BIGBOY! (2-5) vs Starrfavrerodg (3-4)
110.90 to 110.36. The KFFL AI has this one at 50.3%, the closest game on the board. For BIGBOY! it might be the last real chance to save the three-peat. The two-time defending champion is 2-5, has lost two straight, and is down to a 7.8% chance at the playoffs. Lose this one and 2-6 with six games left is about as close to done as it gets.
BIGBOY! has a full lineup this week despite K Miller, D Samuel Sr. and T Etienne Jr. all being on bye. G Smith (14.66) is the quarterback now, J Jacobs (13.15) plays tonight, and J Jefferson (13.63), D London (12.43) and G Wilson (11.63) give them three receivers who can all go off. They just have not done it at the same time very often.
Starrfavrerodg scored 75.84 last week, the lowest score in the league, with K Cousins scoring 18.30 on the bench. So this week Cousins (13.66) starts, and A Rodgers (13.96) sits on the bench projected 0.30 higher. You cannot make this up! The Packers stack of C Watson (11.88), T Kraft (9.24) and T Smack (9.13) all play tonight, and K Williams (14.70) and J Cook III (12.33) give them a solid backfield. Starrfavrerodg is 3-4 and at 20.9%. The series is even at 3-3, and Starrfavrerodg has won the last two.
Prediction: Can Bigboy get win #3? I think so! I think the reigning champ keeps their playoff hopes alive with another nail biter thanks to a really solid performance from their trio of WR’s (Wilson, London, and Jefferson).
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 6
- Record: Dead even at 3-3
- PPG Avg: Advantage BIGBOY! 119.55 to 110.86
- Current Streak: BIGBOY! L2
- Last Meeting: 2025 — BIGBOY! 82.69, Starrfavrerodg 99.13
DaUnderdog (5-2) vs HHH (6-1)
Brother battle, and it is first place against second! HHH (6-1) has won six straight and is 6-1 for the first time in league history. DaUnderdog (5-2) had a five game streak snapped last week. The two of them are both sitting at 90% to make the playoffs, so this one is about the #1 seed and the bragging rights at the next family get-together. DaUnderdog leads the regular season series 13-10. But in the playoffs, HHH is 3-0 against DaUnderdog: 2005, 2017 and 2019.
DaUnderdog has a lot of work to do before Sunday. As it stands, Yahoo projects them for 65.83, because C McCaffrey, J Noel and their kicker D Zvada are all on bye. J Coleman (7.35) and S Diggs (questionable, 9.78) are on the bench to fill two of those holes, and they need a kicker off the waiver wire. And there are two more decisions to make: T Lawrence (17.67) is projected almost five points higher than B Nix (12.93), and T Warren (questionable, 10.07) is projected higher than J Ferguson (6.47), who scored a zero on Monday night. Make every one of those moves and DaUnderdog gets to 99.
HHH has its own bye with M Nabers off. Slide J Chase (questionable, 15.75) over to receiver and put B Tuten (11.53) in the flex and HHH is at 112. T McBride (15.50) went for 26.55 last week, and J Love (15.79) and C Hubbard (12.97) both play tonight, on opposite sides of the same game. The KFFL AI has HHH at 58.8%.
Prediction: I wish that both teams were going to be at full strength but we may have to wait until the playoffs for that as the bye weeks are taking both Nabers and CMC. DaUnderdog also is dealing with some injuries so getting a win here will be a tough task. HHH has been too good and I think they keep it rolling and create a little more separation from them and the 2nd place teams with win # 7 here!
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 23
- Record: Advantage DaUnderdog at 13-10
- PPG Avg: Advantage DaUnderdog 113.60 to 110.61
- Current Streak: DaUnderdog L2
- Last Meeting: 2025 — DaUnderdog 101.07, HHH 144.5
- Playoff Meetings: 3 (HHH leads 3-0)
pack slayer (2-5) vs Sportsfreak (1-6)
Somebody's season is ending here. pack slayer (2-5) is at 7.3% to make the playoffs and Sportsfreak (1-6) is at 0.5%. Both have lost three straight. The loser of this one is not mathematically out, but they might as well start planning for the draft. Last year's meeting was decided by 1.03 points, pack slayer winning 124.38 to 123.35, and they have split two playoff meetings, the most recent in 2024 when Sportsfreak won 156.83 to 134.45 on the way to the Super Bowl.
pack slayer has four players on bye: N Collins, W Marks, C Kirk and J Johnson. They have a full lineup anyway, led by K Walker III (15.57) and M Stafford (15.20). C Tate and DJ Moore are both questionable. pack slayer is still the team that scores and can't win, 50-41 against the field with a 2-5 record.
Sportsfreak gets J Daniels (16.37) back at quarterback with B Young (14.58) on the bench, and C Brown (14.13) and T McMillan (11.69), who plays tonight, lead the way. F Warner is on bye at D and A Kamara is on bye too. Fill the defensive spot and Sportsfreak projects at 97 to pack slayer's 104. The KFFL AI has pack slayer at 57.1%.
Prediction: This sportsfreak team is really struggling and right now I can’t pick them to win until I see some signs of life. I like pack slayer to get the win in this one.
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 16
- Record: Advantage pack slayer at 9-7
- PPG Avg: Advantage pack slayer 120.02 to 117.18
- Current Streak: pack slayer W1
- Last Meeting: 2025 — pack slayer 124.38, Sportsfreak 123.35
- Playoff Meetings: 2 (split 1-1)
PackerFANatic7 (2-5) vs U Don't Know (5-2)
Here is something you don't see every day: the KFFL AI is picking a 2-5 team over a 5-2 team, and it is not even that close. PackerFANatic7 is at 61.0%, the most confident pick the KFFL AI made all week. PackerFANatic7 is coming off that Monday night comeback over Pack Attack, and D Prescott (25.04) is projected higher than anybody else in the entire league this week. C Lamb (21.70) is right behind him and B Aubrey (11.17) kicks for the same Dallas team, so once again the Dallas stack decides this one, this time against Arizona on Sunday. They still need to fill the defensive slot, but do that and PackerFANatic7 projects at 122.
U Don't Know (5-2) has been winning ugly. Last week they won with P Mahomes scoring 2.23. This week J Allen (20.81) is back, and the bye week has taken a bite out of the rest of the lineup: G Kittle, I Likely, M Evans and C Skattebo are all off, which means D Waller (5.51) plays tight end tonight and C Kupp (5.55) is in the flex. A St. Brown (14.67) is questionable. U Don't Know is at 79.5% and a loss here would make the second half a lot more interesting. The last time these two met, U Don't Know won 96.69 to 96.14. PackerFANatic7 leads the series 5-4.
Prediction: PackerFANatic7 coming off the big win last week is looking to make a run and you know what!? I think they build on that momentum from a week ago and pick up win # 3 on the season. They suddenly have a little momentum and a win streak after this week!
Historical Look at this Match-Up:
- Regular Season Match-ups: 9
- Record: Advantage PackerFANatic7 at 5-4
- PPG Avg: Advantage U Don't Know 117.88 to 115.82
- Current Streak: PackerFANatic7 L1
- Last Meeting: 2025 — PackerFANatic7 96.14, U Don't Know 96.69
